Warlord Games have improved on their testudo by including an EXCLUSIVE Centurion model leading from the front of the formation and also added a pack of metal arrows that you can stick to the shields to make it look like it's been peppered with arrows.

These highly detailed models represent a highly decorated Centurion with vinestick under arm in true Sergeant Major style, Cornicen and Vexillarius carrying vexillum standard and sporting the silvered faceplate which must have instilled fear into any facing him on the field of battle!

The Legion’s first cohort was, at 800 men, larger than the others and led by the primus pilus – a career soldier and advisor to the legate himself. He was the Legion's senior Centurion and outranked by only a handful of officers.

This hoary, dramatically-posed veteran is just what you want to lead your best Cohort. Of course he can also be used as a regular centurion in your other units!

In an attempt to reduce the baggage train following Legions on the march the General Marius decreed trhat Legionaries would be responsible for carrying much of their own equipment,. Equipping them with yokes they quickly became known as Marius' Mules.

The Roman Marching Legionaries Contubernium pack contains 8 metal Marching Legionaries & 8 metal yokes.

Auxiliary troops fought in line much like their legionary counterparts and were not, as is fashionable to suggest, lesser quality troops - in fact they were the equal of the legionary in training, drill and combat capability.

Recruited initially from free provincial Roman subjects they went on to be recruited from the indigenous population as the Legions conquered new territory. It was not uncommon to see Celtic auxiliary units.

Armed with their spear, gladius and protected by a chainmail coat and their distinctive oval shield the auxiliary cohorts performed sterling work in the name of the various Emperors!

The Roman Auxiliary Command pack contains 3 metal models; 1 Centurion, 1 Cornicen and 1 Singifer with signum standard.
