Based on the proven and numerous M4 Sherman chassis, the M10 was fielded in large numbers during WWII and although it would be replaced by other tank destroyers based on it's design the M10 continued to serve to the war's end with distinction, serving with US, British, Polish, Free French and Soviet armies.

Although officially titled '3-inch Gun Motor Carriage, M10' it was more affectionately known as the 'Wolverine' by British crews. The epithet wasn't similarly adopted by American forces, who creatively dubbed it 'TD' for 'tank destroyer'.

The open-topped turret wasn't terribly popular with the exposed crew and in several cases a steel or mesh cover was added as a field modification. Despite this and the relatively slow traverse of the turret the M10 was a feared weapon on the battlefield as many German panzer commanders can attest...

Conceived to replace the M3/M5 Stuart light tanks, the M24 Chaffee fought in US service during the later years of WWII and on into the Korean War. The Chaffee also served with British and Russian forces during the Second World War. Reliable, armed with a 75mm gun and with a good off-road performance, the M24 was popular with it's crews.

The M3 half-tracked personnel carrier was one of the most popular and widely used personnel carrier of the war. With ring-mounted .50 Cal MG and mounts for three .30 Cal MGs this half track can give good fire support to it's attendant squad.

The M3 saw extensive service with the American army.

The M3 Halftrack box set contains contains one M3 halftrack resin body with metal wheels, tracks and accessories, three .30 cal MGs and one 50 cal machine gun.

The M5A1 mounted a new turret on the M5 hull. The turret had the same 37mm gun as it’s predecessor but incorporated an overhang which housed the radio. This version of the Stuart was the main variant in service with US forces from 1943.

The M8 Armoured Car saw extensive service with the American army in Europe and the Far East. It also saw service with both British (who nicknamed it 'Greyhound' due to it's high speed) and Canadian armies - especially in the Italian theatre.

Although thinly armoured the M8 was very fast and armed with a 37mm gun and co-axial .30 Cal MG.

This popular armoured car was still in active service right up to 1995!

The Panther was the best all round German tank of the war and although conceived as a medium tank, at 45 tons and with frontal armour over 100mm thick, it could easily be rated more highly.

This Panther has been coated with Zimmerit, a paste applied to the vehicle after production to add protection from magnetic mines.

This was perhaps the most common foe that British, American or Russian tank crews found themselves engaging, and this version of the workhorse of the German armoured force went right through to the end of the war, never fully being replaced by the mark J which was the next mark in line.
